In the field of industrial production, UV curing machines play a crucial role. The performance and rational selection of their various systems are directly related to production quality and efficiency.


The light source system of a UV curing machine is a core component, consisting of four parts: a UV lamp tube, a UV lamp box, a transformer, and a capacitor. When selecting a UV lamp, it is necessary to accurately match the spectral wavelength and power density absorbed by the UV ink. Imagine that if the two do not match, it will be difficult to achieve the desired complete curing effect even with long - term illumination and multiple curing processes. The common reflective hood is of the focusing type, which can highly concentrate the light energy of the UV lamp, greatly enhancing the photochemical effect. The adaptation between the transformer and the power of the UV lamp is also extremely important. The capacitor needs to be coordinated and matched with the UV lamp tube and the transformer. The withstand voltage of the capacitor should be selected according to the output voltage of the transformer.


The control system covers devices such as a digital display temperature controller, motor overload protection, leakage protector, UV lamp ammeter, lamp timer, power indicator light, control circuit fuse, start/stop switch, and fan motor fuse. When choosing a UV curing machine, it is essential to carefully check whether these devices are operating properly. They are like the "nervous system" of the machine, ensuring the orderly operation of each link.


The ventilation system is composed of a fan, an air duct, and a wind - collecting hood. The selection of the fan, air volume control, and exhaust method cannot be ignored. Different printing UVLED curing machines have different fan configurations. Generally, the fan should be selected according to the power of the UV lamp to ensure a perfect match between the two, so as to effectively exhaust the heat and waste gas generated during the curing process.


The conveying part consists of a conveyor belt, a frequency converter, a reduction motor, a chain, and a roller. Ensuring the normal operation of this part is the basis for guaranteeing the smooth production process.


In terms of glazing and drying, solvent - based (oil - based) glazing adopts an ultraviolet heat - sensitive drying method that converts electrical energy into heat energy. Appropriately increasing the electric heating power, accelerating the air flow rate, and reasonably controlling the workpiece running speed can accelerate the volatilization of solvents and diluents, improve the drying effect, reduce the residue amount, and reduce odor and yellowing and discoloration problems.


The selection of glazing coatings is also crucial. Solvent - based (oil - based) glazing coatings containing aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene and toluene, which can easily decompose the ink binder, should be abandoned. For heat - sensitive curing glazing machines, alcohol - based glazing coatings are recommended to reduce the chemical impact of solvents on the ink printing layer. For UV coatings, it is advisable to select (meth)acrylate - based oligomers containing polymerizable double bonds, polymerizable (meth)acrylate monomers, and photoinitiators, or use a formulation with aromatic diazonium salts, sulfonium salts, and palladium salts as the main photoinitiators, epoxy resins, and oligomers. Cationic photopolymerization - type glazing coatings can improve the photosensitive curing speed and ability. Water - based glazing oil is also a good choice.


In addition, the key factors determining the curing effect of a UV LED curing machine include the spectral range of the ultraviolet light source (above 400nm), the light source power, the width of the conveyor network, and the effective curing speed. The aging of the quartz body of the UV lamp tube, the voltage stability, and the performance of the magnetic transformer all affect the UV light output. By using an electronic monitor to monitor the UV light output decline rate and display the comparison value with a new lamp, it is possible to timely determine when to replace the lamp.
